LIKE THIS – Saved my hands!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
As a doctoral student I seem to be typing, writing or notetaking contantly. Over the past few years I have developed carpal tunnel and dequorveines[sp?] so this product has been a godsend. Here are the pros and yes, cons:

Pros: Lightweight, conforms to your hand, simple on/off with cap, lighter than carrying a laptop/tablet pc, uses blue medium ink refills (my personal preference), fantastic if you are doing interviewing and don’t want your laptop in someone’s face (rather rude), plus its silent during meetings unlike other folks who bring their laptops to meetings and pay more attention to other work than what is on the agenda, paper can go anywhere with you.

Cons: paper is a tad expensive, but again, the pad is lighter than a laptop etc (so you save on your back and shoulder!), availability of paper can be a problem when you really need it, different sizes of paper is limited.

The recognition does require training, but if you are already consistent in your writing, ie, shape, balance, forms, then the recognition will be fantastic. I’ve had minimal issues with the training. I reckon it has better recognition than speech recognition (I have ViaVoice and MyScript software does seem to be better).

All in all, fantastic buy for student, author, interviewer or anyone who likes, or needs, to take notes. Keep up the fantastic work Logitech.

How to get the pen to work with Vista
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Logitech sold its digital pen business to Destiny (www.destinyplc.com) and does not provide support for the pen anymore – and, despite promises, Destiny has failedto deliver a Vista driver yet. But, there is a work-around. The following worked for me:

    - make sure .NET 1.1 and SP1 are installed on your computer – if not download both from microsoft.com and install. You can verify that they are installed by looking at Programs in the Vista Control Panel

    - download the latest driver from the Logitech website (not from the estiny website, the compny that bought the io2 pen from Logitech) and save it to your hard drive (running straight from Logitech website failed for me – don’t know why)

    - connect your cradle and place pen in it

    - run the installation file

    - start application

    Careful….This is not “livescribe”
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Amazon is going to be selling the incredible new “Livescribe” pen. For some reason, searching Amazon for “Livescribe” brings up this older and much less capable device. Don’t be fooled. (My 3-star rating is no reflection on this product, which I have never tried. You can’t leave things unrated when posting a review, I reckon.)

    Fantastic small gadget!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this pen for my daughter to take lecture notes at university. It works like a charm. My only concern is that I have to keep buying the digital notebooks. The pen software loaded fine, and it works very well. Didn’t take long to train it to read her handwriting.
