It’s a excellent product
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
It’s a excellent product it does what it promise, the downside is that you have to write very clear at the bottom of the page (it’s the place where sometimes the receiver can’t read quite well), so try a smaller notebook and you’ll be fine.
Its a nice gadget and very helpful when you are in a meeting or taking some notes at school or also when you want to send an ancient fashion or more personal mail with your own handwriting to someone using Internet.
Another helpful hint; if you find that over the years the receiver can’t maintain the charge you just carefully unscrew the four screws at the bottom of receiver and replace the battery be shure to get a new rechargeable 1.2V 800 to 920mAh battery and change it (you’ll find that the ancient battery will be glued to the device but with a pair of pliers you can easily take it out just be gently and careful), then you’ll have a wireless pen for one or two years more and so and so.
4th time not lucky

I have had to send the pen back 3 times as it worked for a while and then gave up. Apparently there are problems with the pen batteries shorting out.It works well for a week and then when it is recharged on the computer it gives up. I have given up now and thrown it in the trash. I would not recommend this to anyone. I cannot get my money back just a replacement- and they have all been worthless. If anyone else is having the same problems it would give me encouragement- otherwise – it must be the way I am using it.
Works but needs a lot of manual corrections

The unit is simple to use and it takes a small time to figure out the software but not hard to do that. I have messy handwriting and I print in capital letters. When I convert my written text and graphs into a word document I have to spend some time editing the mistakes from the conversion. It does save some time doing this but not a lot of time vs. typing my notes into a word document without using this tool. I recommend using line paper to write your notes and use the lines to help guide the size of the graphics for consistency. The equipment and software is very basic but I did not pay a lot for this product. I will update this review after I spend more time with this product.
Not hard at all..

My zpen really does everything it says it’s going to do and I havn’t had any problems refilling the ink or anything like that. This is a fantastic product for a student like me. I never have to used a scanner or extra copies again which is fantastic when you never have time to do all that extra work. I also received this item way quicker than I expected.
NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME!

The Zpen itself works as claimed. But there are some hard problems with its functionality.
The US Customer Service Address (Phone & Internet) is not functional.
The Manual ( in PDF format) lacks some essential information
When accessing `HELP’ or other Manual functions the default is French language
Forget about contacting the French Headquarters, they don’t respond to requests for help
When using the Pen Receiver, it is necessary to orient the Receiver correctly.
When using the Pen Receiver, clipping the Receiver to a clipboard with a thick paper pad will block the Receiver from receiving the signal from the Pen
The Mini Pen requires either very sharp finger nails or a tool such as needle nose pliers to replace the Pen
Where does one find replacement Pen inserts in the US? The US office is Offline so no help there!
You pays your $$ and you takes your chances!
Zpen has been around for a while, but in my opinion still not ready for Prime Time
& Oh Yes, I am using mine, its better than nothing, but not by very much !!!!!!!!!!!!!
At $89.00 its a small expensive for what it delivers
Excellent Luck
get a scanner

I don’t know why ppl are spending $90 on this pen. Surely it does what it is supposed to do. But why don’t you get yourself a $20(or even free after rebate) scanner which does a much better job in saving your notes electronically? Dane-Elec’s software that translates your handwriting into text is a joke. If you have some extra money then this pen is a nice small toy to have. If not, i reckon a lower-end scanner is a much better choice.
